The Pharmacy Guild of Australia reminded community pharmacies third-party nominations for the Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY) close on Monday 8 May.

PATY is the premier award for pharmacy assistants, recognising and celebrating the best of the best in Australian community pharmacy for their leadership, innovation, and community service.

Third-party nominations can be submitted by pharmacy owners, pharmacists, industry representatives and other pharmacy assistants.

The third-party nomination process is all online with a straight-forward entry form which takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Pharmacy assistants nominated by a third-party will be required to respond to their nomination to be in the running for the 2023 PATY Award.

Pharmacy assistants have a week left to self-nominate by Monday 15 May or respond to their nomination.

PATY2022 Winner Terri Bakker said that PATY had given her more confidence in her career as a pharmacy assistant, to further pursue different elements within community pharmacy.

The PATY2023 Winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize as well as flight, travel and accommodation packages to attend APP2024 and PA Conferences in 2023 and 2024 to support their career and professional development as a pharmacy assistant.
