Following a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference (PA2022) returns to the Sofitel Brisbane Central from 28-29 October 2022. With a focus on wellness and wellbeing, PA2022 is the pharmacy industry’s opportunity to acknowledge, celebrate and reward pharmacy assistants.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia National President, Professor Trent Twomey, said pharmacy assistants have and continue to play an integral frontline role during the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for patients and the wider community.
“In the past two-years of the COVID-19 pandemic, pharmacy assistants have demonstrated immense resilience during uncertain times coupled with an expansion of responsibilities, specifically with the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out.”
“PA2022 is an amazing opportunity for pharmacy assistants to engage with their peers and learn from the experience of others,” Mr. Twomey said. “Most importantly, is it a unique opportunity for pharmacy assistants to put themselves first and focus on their wellbeing.”
“For the first time in the event’s history, we are excited to offer an early bird registration whereby delegates can save $65 if they register before Thursday 1 September 2022,” Mr. Twomey said.
Mr. Twomey encourages pharmacies to register their staff in advance and make the most of the new early bird registration with the COVID refund guarantee.
“If attendees cannot travel to PA2022 due to COVID-19 restrictions or orders to self-isolate they will have the choice to get a full refund or transfer their registration to another delegate,” Mr. Twomey said.
“In addition, pharmacies which register two or more staff to attend PA2022 will receive a free APP2023 registration valued at over $1,000.”
The PA2022 program will be available soon and will include sessions on product knowledge, industry updates, management and operations, and wellness topics.
The program will also showcase The Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year State Winners, with the National Winner being announced at the Conference Dinner on Saturday night.
Mr. Twomey encourages pharmacies to acknowledge, celebrate and reward their pharmacy assistants by registering now for PA2022.
