Organisers of this year’s Pharmacy Assistant National Conference (PA Conference) have announced a range of new registration packages to enable pharmacy assistants to experience the event without committing to a full day or days away from the pharmacy.
The PA Conference is an annual event hosted by The Pharmacy Guild of Australia which provides a two-day education program including refresher training, a trade exhibition and networking and social functions for pharmacy assistants.
The registration packages have been introduced in recognition of staff shortages in pharmacy, which make time away from the pharmacy for education and professional development difficult for pharmacy staff.
Guild National President, Professor Trent Twomey, said the packages suit all budgets and time constraints.
“We were approached by numerous pharmacies who want to send staff to the event but can’t afford to have them out of the pharmacy for a whole day or two days,” Professor Twomey said.
“The packages allow staff to attend for as little as three hours or even attend outside of opening hours, with the trade exhibition and social functions taking place after hours.”
“This is a great way for pharmacies to still be able to reward, recognise and retain staff without jeopardising patient needs by staff being out of the pharmacy.”
PA2022 is being held at the Sofitel Brisbane Central on 28-29 October.
The conference program covers current industry trends, product knowledge, management and operational practices and motivational presentations, providing a great opportunity for your staff’s personal development and to upgrade their skills.
In addition to the new registration packages available, the conference offers early bird pricing on full registration which will save delegates $65. Pharmacies which register two or more staff to attend the PA Conference will also receive a free APP2023 registration valued at over $1,000.
