The Pharmacy Assistant National Conference will help pharmacies to maximise the ‘community’ in the ‘community pharmacy’ relationship during a session led by 2017 Queensland Pharmacy Assistant of the Year State Winner and Alive Pharmacy Calliope Retail Manager, Clare Stone.
Pharmacies significantly contribute to the health and wellbeing of local communities but this can extend beyond just the four walls of a pharmacy.
Clare said community pharmacies are in a prime position to extend out to their community to create real and meaningful engagement.
“Pharmacy assistants are very dedicated and we want to do the very best we can by sharing our passion and dedication through the store. This is imperative to the long term success of a pharmacy,” Clare said.
“By engaging the community in a store and a pharmacy’s involvement in the community, pharmacies can increase loyalty, knowledge and customer base.
“Pharmacy assistants CAN lead the way – it’s all about knowing where to start, and where (and how) to go from there.”
The session, titled ‘Community engagement – beyond the walls’, is scheduled for Friday 11 October and will reveal to pharmacy assistants how to best utilise staff with community engagement, and how to motivate them to be involved in the community outside the store.
The session will also delve into the act of giving and receiving, ways to engage the community both inside and outside the store, sponsorship, and how to best engage the next generation of leaders.
PA2019 will be held from 11-13 October at the Sofitel Brisbane Central. Pharmacies who send two or more staff will receive a free APP2020 registration valued at over $1,000.
