The Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award is the premier award for Australian pharmacy assistants, recognising and celebrating the ‘best of the best’ in community pharmacy.

Nomination Process
Below is an overview of the nomination process for the Award:
- Nominees can either self-nominate or be nominated by a third party such as an employer, colleague or industry representative
- Nominees must complete and submit a response to four selection criteria
- Nominees will be short-listed to take part in a virtual State Workshop (up to 10 State Finalists per state will take part in the workshop)
- A State Winner is selected from each State Workshop and invited to represent their state in a National Judging Workshop
- A face-to-face National Judging Workshop will be held in Brisbane in October
- The national winner will be announced at the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference 2021
Prizes
In addition to outstanding training, development and networking opportunities, the award offers the following prizes:
State Finalists
The top 10 finalists in each state are invited to participate in a State Workshop, which provides professional development opportunities for participants.
State Winners
One winner will be selected from each state/ territory and awarded:
- Custom glass trophy
- Exclusive training and development sessions
- National recognition in industry publications such as Retail Pharmacy, AJP, ITK, AJP, Pharmacy Daily and Pharmacy News
- Profile in National Guild electronic and social media platforms
- Return flights and accommodation for attendance at the National Judging Workshop
- Complimentary registration for the Pharmacy Assistant National Conference 2021 (PA2021), which is held in conjunction with the national judging
- Invitation to be a judge at the PATY 2022 State Workshop in their state or territory (this will be conducted online via Zoom)
National Winner
One National winner will be selected and awarded:
- Custom glass trophy
- $5,000 cash prize
- Guild Training Package of your choice
- Return flights, accommodation and registration to APP2022 on the Gold Coast, including tickets to the Welcome Reception and Street Party
- Invitation to participate as a judge for the 2022 state workshop day in your state
- Return flights, accommodation and registration to PA2022, including tickets to the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner
- Invitation to participate as a judge at the 2022 National Workshop Day at the PA Conference in October
