General

When is the conference being held?
The conference program officially starts at 12:45 pm on Friday 22 October with a Welcome Reception held the same afternoon and evening. The conference concludes on the afternoon of Sunday 24 October.

Where is the conference being held?
The conference and trade exhibition will be held at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, which is located on Turbot Street. Further information about the hotel can be found at the Sofitel Brisbane Central Homepage.

Who can attend?
The conference is generally attended by pharmacy assistants, dispensary assistants, retail managers and supervisors, however anyone from the pharmacy industry is welcome to attend.

What is the dress code for the conference?
Conference sessions – smart casual
Welcome Reception – cocktail attire
Conference Dinner – fancy dress theme (Hollywood/movie)

Who is the event organiser?

Registration

What is the cut-off date for registrations?
Online Registrations will be accepted until midnight on Saturday 17 October 2020. After this time, registrations will be available onsite at Sofitel Brisbane Central on Friday 23 October 2020.

Are payment plans available? 

As we understand that an upfront payment doesn’t suit everyone, in 2020 the conference is offering the option of a payment plan.

This is applicable for the full registration fee only (excludes workshop fees, additional tickets and accommodation).

The full registration fee of $395 will be broken down into three equal payments:

  • Initial amount (charged upon registration)                           $131.67
  • Second payment* (charged on 31 August 2020)                  $131.67
  • Third payment* (charged on 30 September 2020)               $131.66

*The second and third payments will be auto-debited against your nominated credit card for the amounts and on the dates specified above. Your card details are secured by NAB.

For registrations made after 30 August, a payment of $263.34 will be charged upon registration, with the remaining balance of $131.67 charged on 30 September 2020.

Payment plans are not available for registrations received after 29 September.

Can I register onsite?
Yes, onsite registrations will be accepted.

What should I do if I don’t receive any confirmation or receipt?
A confirmation of registration and tax invoice will be issued to your email address on submission of registration. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your ‘junk’ or ‘spam’ folders and ensure that you check the email address you entered when registering. If a confirmation has not been received please contact the Events Division of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Queensland Branch on 07 3831 3788 or email [email protected].

Can you check my registration?
Yes. You can contact the Events Division of The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Queensland Branch on 07 3831 3788 or email [email protected] to check if your registration has been submitted successfully.

Can I bring extra guests to the social events?
Yes, extra tickets to both the Welcome Reception and the Conference Dinner can be purchased online with your registration. Additional Welcome Reception tickets can be purchased for $70 per ticket and additional Conference Dinner tickets for $115 per ticket.

Will you be sending my name badge and function tickets to me before the conference?
No, your name badge and function tickets will be available for collection from the Registration Desk onsite on arrival at the conference.

What if I lose my name badge?
A new badge will be issued at no cost.

What if my badge is not correct?
Please check your name badge upon collection and advise Registration Desk staff if this is incorrect. A new badge can be printed for you at no cost. Please note that the name and pharmacy you enter on your online registration is the name which will be printed on your name badge.

I need to cancel. Is there a cancellation/refund policy?
All cancellations and requests for registration refunds must be made in writing to [email protected].
1.    Cancellations of individual registrations fees made before 7 September 2020 will receive a refund of their registration fees (if paid) less a $50.00 per person administration fee.
2.    Refunds will NOT be processed for cancellations after 7 September 2020, however substitute delegates will be accepted as long as we are notified by email by Saturday 17 October 2020.
3.    No refunds will be issued until after the conference.
4.    No refunds will be given for non-attendance at the conference.
5.    Cancellations of accommodation:

  • if booked through the PA Conference website:
    • if cancelled by 7 September, delegates will receive a full refund of the relevant accommodation fees; or
    • if cancelled after 7 September, accommodation cannot be refunded; and
  • if booked through a source other than the PA Conference website, cancellation policies are at the discretion of the organisation concerned.

6.    Airline cancellations are at the discretion of the organisation concerned.

Accommodation & Travel

Do you have special accommodation rates?
Yes. Special rates have been negotiated at Sofitel Brisbane Central for PA2020 attendees. Please visit our Accommodation & Travel page for more information.

Is there parking at the conference?
Onsite car parking is available at the Sofitel Brisbane Central. For car parking rates visit https://www.sofitelbrisbane.com.au/en/contact.html. Is public transport accessible from the conference venue?
Local bus, taxi, train and ferries operate regular services to all major attractions, hotels and shopping centres in Brisbane.

Buses, Trains and Ferries
Brisbane public transport runs 24 hours a day at four to five-minute intervals during peak periods. Information about public transport times, go cards and planning your journey can be found on the Translink website.
